About Our Programs
K911 Tactical Care strictly follows Canine Tactical Combat Casualty Care guidelines as published in the 10th Edition of the Journal of Special Operations Medicine (JSOM) Advanced Tactical Paramedic Protocols Handbook as developed by the United States Special Operations Command Office of the Command Surgeon, Department of Emergency Medical Services and Public Health.
K911 Primacy parallels training guidelines for Tactical Combat Casualty Care for All Combatants (TCCC-AC). K911 Advanced parallels training guidelines for Tactical Combat Casualty Care for Medical Providers (TCCC-MP). Both courses are canine specific and have been adapted to meet the needs of public safety agencies who utilize canines or support canine operations.
Our curricula are updated with each new edition of the JSOM guidelines and are then reviewed by a practicing Colorado veterinarian to ensure compliance with Colorado’s state and local guidelines and EMS scopes of practice.
Our programs have been approved by The Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Testing (POST) for initial and ongoing training for both canine officers and for officers that may support canine operations and have been approved for continuing medical education (CME) for both Colorado EMTs and National Registry of EMTs.
Since the removal of legal restrictions on EMS providers in Colorado, we have worked diligently to develop sustainable medical support programs for our working canines. The feasibility of any program relies on the ability to deliver ongoing and relevant sustainment training. To ensure program sustainability, we offer a free train-the-trainer addendum course for both Primacy and Advanced courses that further develops and certifies Agency Sustainment Trainers. *
*Train-the-trainer courses are provided only as the final module of either Primacy and/or Advanced. We do not offer the train-the-trainer portion as a stand-alone course. The certification provided is as an Agency Sustainment Trainer. Trainers completing this course are certified only to provide sustainment skills training and continuing education for their respective canine programs. All of K911’s curricula are copyrighted materials. Agency Sustainment Trainers are not authorized to utilize or present any portion of K911’s curricula without specific written permission from K911.
